CMF contacted me about the squad transmission leak this morning. The DOT for the unit dies on 3/1 so as the leak is not significant they have asked that we continue to monitor closely and it will wait for DOT/PM which they are working to move up slightly as well since there are not currently any reserves available. I have asked for them to provide a hard date update since there are on-going driver training initiatives. I will pass the date update along when I have it.

Air system on M715 written up for inability to properly hold inflation while off or inflate properly (and consistently) when turned on. High idle isn't getting psi high enough to allow parking brake to stay off once audible alarm goes off. Turn off high idle when this happens and use gas petal instead to build pressure. Not written up as out of service criteria since the brakes are hydraulic.

CMF advised today that the actual T715 was damaged somewhere between vendors. The break-away tip was significantly damaged and will need to be totally replaced. The part was ordered today. They also found significant damage to the cab tilt cylinder and various other parts the the underside of the front of the truck. They've asked personnel to be mindful of speed over bumps in the road and speed bumps.

We took delivery of a new, smaller RIT pak from BC Fitch today. This pak is in test mode and we are to put it through it's paces. After a period of time I will be giving it back to him whereupon Co 16 will test it for awhile. The SCOTT folks technically don't want us to take it into fires, but...shit happens. Just don't take it to training burns obviously. Please send all feedback to me as I will be the primary POC for Co 15 on this item with Lt. Mundy as second.
