Just FYI: Rudy Ford, owner of CRW Mechanical came into FS15 this morning to assess how heating system was performing. He advised the system was operating within 1-2 degrees of temperatures set. When we spoke further about why the station overall and sleeping areas felt cool, he advised it is because personnel within the building were adjusting the temperature and actually had the bunk room set to "cooling" at this time. Obviously, we don't want to be deliberately blowing cold air when it is 12 degrees outside. I asked Captain Cook to join us for further review/explanation. I explained I had slept in the "green room" last night and it was 64 degrees. Currently it is 68 degrees. He explained that the controller for the four double dorms is in the first double, and it was not responding to attempts to turn up the heating settings. Last, he explained again that the kitchen/day room unit is the one installed erroneously and would not be corrected until spring. He suggested we keep the fan off, so it not blow cold air. Will pursue further through appropriate HVAC process. |
