Mike
Got some good news and some bad . Good news is we have finished with the under cab insulation. Bad news while looking over the defect list from AES , We didn’t like the response on the defect below. And rechecked the King pins and front end out . We have found the right side upper king pin bussing to be bad.
To get the truck back faster we will be having RS replace the king pins. If it returns to AES this will only delay the return further.
Your truck will be dropped off this afternoon and kept in side of RS. They will start first thing in the morning , with ETA of late tomorrow . This will make all repairs complete.
Defect # 90982
Entry Date: 1/29/2019 Status:
Priority: Out of Service
Steering/bouncing in front end continues to be an issue in T715. Bouncing seems to have gotten a
little better but when it does bounce on a turn, it feels like you momentarily lose the ability to steer
the apparatus. You can literally feel it in the steering wheel when the momentum comes back
down and you regain steering. It is very difficult to feel this issue during routine driving.
I spoke to Mr. Bizjack in person about this issue before the DOT/PM. What he said about the
Kingpin being the possible issue explained exactly what we are feeling- steering is responsive
when the weight of the apparatus is on the suspension but not responsive when the weight is off
the suspension. Checked front suspension and kingpins with no play, no problem found while road testing unit.
