BVFD Team -
Please join the BVFD Officers in congratulating EMT Vincent Aryan Gomes on becoming our latest Charge EMT status on the Ambulance.
EMT Gomes joined the BVFD in December of 2018 and has worked hard to complete multiple specialized training programs to advance to Charge status. He completed a dozen required classes.
Even after all of the academy training, EMT Gomes completed many steps before taking command of a BVFD Ambulance. EMT Gomes completed a series of comprehensive written and practical in-station examinations. After completing all tests, EMT Gomes rode “Charge” under the evaluation of an experienced Charge EMT for a series of evaluation calls. This process is designed to allow the EMT to demonstrate knowledge and ability in the field before being in charge of an Ambulance and crew in any situation.
The BVFD congratulates EMT Gomes for completing this challenging process and earning Charge status and his dedication and commitment to serving others, even during a pandemic. Keep up the fine work!
So far this year, despite the pandemic, the BVFD has turned over FIVE new EMS Drivers and FIVE new Charge Aides. We appreciate the whole Team that makes this advancement pace possible.
