This is to inform you that Leonard Newman reporting from station 15 has submitted the following defect report for Stock #3-16-7034. Defect Description: Intermittent air leak in rear air suspension system. When occurring, air can be heard escaping from the rear suspension area, the rear air tank remains at zero PSI, and the main chassis air tank will pressurize only to ~90PSI on high idle and drop quickly once high idle is released. Air loss continues until the parking brake applies itself. During 12/29 overnight shift this issue occurred after unloading patient at Holy Cross. After several unsuccessful attempts to get the system to pressurize, the unit was allowed to fast idle for 6-8 minutes or longer and the rear air tank suddenly charged to ~70-75PSI and then dropped to ~40PSI, and then the main air tank charged normally. While driving unit in OOS status back to quarters, rear air tank pressure fluctuated randomly and quickly between 25-60 PSI. Declared unit OOS due to parking brake self-applying and rear air suspension dropping when air leak condition occurs. Is Out Of Service? Yes | |
IF DEFECT, WAS A REPAIR REQUEST MADE? | YES |
