| Engine would not go into Drive again this morning. Placed Eng in Drive (it registered on control panel going into drive however transmission did not engage into drive). Engine sat without starting for over 7 hours prior to this incident. When this situation occurs it takes over a minute for it to engage going into drive (almost as if it needs to build air pressure somewhere). Reverse wouldn't work either. 45 seconds into several shift attempts a severe winding up grinding noise could be heard while in drive. Placed in neutral let sit for 30 more seconds and Engine finally engaged into drive. All gauges check out as normal. CMF unable to create most likely due to the Engine not sitting for several hours upon trial. Recommendation next time it occurs is placing Engine into high idle immediately to see if that speeds up the process. For now keeping Pierce in service to collect more data until otherwise advised. | |
