Atlantic came out and worked on S-49 Spreader and 55" ram. He could not replicate the issue with the spreader but changed out the internal filter and the quick connect coupling. The ram has already been taken apart and inspected by genesis and they said it was fine, even with the vibration. He changed the filter out and the tool still vibrates. Both tools were put back on the squad. |

RS715 ran extrication this morning, during operation S-49 spreader failed to close after being opened to spread. Brought back to station and tried with different reel and portable pump, had the same issue. Tool will open normally but closes very slowly or not at all. This is the only spreader on the driver's side and is now OOS. Attempts to move one of the other two spreaders over to keep spreaders on both sides did not work due to neither fitting in the space previously occupied by the S-49. During check out, 55" ram had issue where it has a harsh vibration when opening. This is the same ram that had this issue several months ago. Tool still operates so it was not removed from the unit. Both issues were submitted as defects to small tools.

T715 shoreline repaired, the connector had a broken wire inside. B715 bay door is not functioning correctly. It requires holding down the close button for 15-20 seconds to start lowering and then remain held down throughout the trip. I would suggest avoiding use to the extend possible. Shoreline in bay 6 ( behind E715) is not getting power to the end of the shoreline, that connector was checked and is fine. Defects submitted for 2nd and 3rd items. RS715 tire is holding air without issue. The screw remains in place to avoid creating a leak on a weekend. Defect was submitted.

Found rear outer dual tire low (90 psi - the valve cap was flashing red), and filled it to 105 psi. I found that the valve cap was loose, which may have caused the low tire pressure, but during unit checkout, found a screw in the tread of the same tire. I will check the tire pressure in a bit to see if it drops.
IF DEFECT, WAS A REPAIR REQUEST MADE? | Will make request later, if pressure in the tire drops. |

portable winch on the rescue squad snapped today during training. The winch snapped at a very light load. The failure is because the winch was put away with the cable being looped on its self causing the winch to spool off of the top instead of off of the bottom. When the winch is spooled over the top it causes the cable to rub a sharp edge. This situation of the winch getting spooled backwards can only happen for two reason. The first being the cause of this failure, the cord looping back on its self. The second cause is if the winch is completely extended and allowed to spin around the drum the other way. Both scenarios can be recognized by the direction of the controller not matching the labels. Ie. Red/out or Black/ in. If label says red is out and you hit the red button and the cable spools in this is reason for alarm. This is sort of common to synthetic rope winch and needs to be caught before a load is applied because it will fail with very little weight and no warning. Ticket and follow up email written to small tools.
