	New appliance added to T715 Inventory. A 3 1/2" Female to 2 1/2" Male adapter has been placed in the storage area at the base of the aerial where the Ladder belts and additional tips are kept. This will allow you to hook a gated wye onto the end of the waterway. Not an everyday use obviously but just a tool for the toolbox.

EMS Advancement - EMT Ahshante Branch to Driver Status

 

BVFD Team -

Please join me in congratulating EMT Ahshante Branch on becoming our latest Driver for Ambulance 715!!

Ahshante  joined the BVFD in November of 2016 and has been taking training classes non-stop to earn her status as EMT in Charge and now as an Emergency EMS Driver.  Last October, Ahshante  completed EVOC, then began working through the BVFD cognitive and practical examinations (on our Ambulance, emergency laws, area streets, and hospital running routes). The final training phase required her to demonstrate proficiency driving on numerous emergency calls under the evaluation of an experienced Driver. Ahshante  drove on a wide variety of emergency calls, including hospital transports to meet the final requirements and earn Emergency Driver status. The BVFD salutes EMT Branch’s hard work and dedication. 

As you can imagine, her timing is particularly good as we definitely need drivers to help during this pandemic. We salute EMT Branch for her dedication and commitment to service.

Chief Ryman and I salute all of the BVFD personnel staffing during this challenging time.  Keep up the good work!
