The County delivered three desks today, to replace the 23 year old desks that had fallen into poor condition. The installers moved the old desks outside, near the Recruiter's Office, pending the arrival of the dumpster on Thursday.

We will move the items into the dumpster after it arrives and work to clear other clutter as we straighten up the rear admin areas.

Two of the new/large dry erase boards were moved to the Captain's Office, as Captain Cook advised they could be put to good use somewhere in the building.

Thank you for bearing with us as we complete the remodeling of the admin area.

Subject: MOSCAD cabinet removal

We are in the process of removing the old MOSCAD cabinets and replacing the old rack with a smaller rack which will house the county network equipment.  Station 15 is slated to be completed on Thursday, 2/8.  Plexus will be doing all of the work.  During the removal the station  network will not be functioning.  This will mean there will be no internet, CAD or Station alerting.  Please maintain a station watch.

The smaller cabinet will be placed in the existing location but is much smaller.  The old cabinet will be moved out of the way but not removed on that day.  Please push the old rack out of the way to await pick up by tech ops.  They will pick up in the next couple of weeks.

If you have any questions, please contact me or Chad Moreland.

Stryker has confirmed that there is no true way to repair/sanitize the Medic Unit cot mattress following the puncture/blood saturation.

A full replacement mattress (XPS Knee Gatch Bolster Matrss6 500003130 $370.98) has been ordered by the BVFD. It may be opened and applied to the cot upon receipt, just please leave the verified packing slip in my mail box so we can finalized payment.

Captain Cook had previously expressed some concerns from the career personnel that the electronic cot might be considered too heavy for regular use. If the general consensus is to discontinue use of the electronic cot on the Medic Unit, please let me know. We only wish to contribute to easing the burden on the busy crew members.

We are field testing a new automated BP monitor the Auxiliary was generous enough to purchase of us. If it proves reliable on the unit, we will officially get it approved for placement on A715. If not, it may be mounted by the Watch Desk for walk in BP checks.

It is only being tested by designated Duty Crews at this time. During last night's testing, EMT Newman moved the cot battery charger to the compartment next to the side stairs (as it has another AC outlet). This allowed the primary AC outlet to support the BP Monitor and ePCR.

Unintentionally, the BP monitor was left on the unit and the cot battery charger was not returned to it's authorized location.

The cot battery charger will be returned to it authorized location tonight (if the Day shift doesn't do it). I called to alert today's Aide (but he was on a call, FF Bowen will attempt to pass along the message).

Just wanted to pass on the info so there was no concerns about the battery move, etc. We hope to soon have a solid recommendation for field use of the BP monitoring device. Just holler if you have any questions.

IMPORTANT-NOTICE

All,

Just wanted to start off by saying thank you to all involved handling the Firehouse  issues in the past few weeks.  As we continue to operate here at Company 15  here are some topics to be addressed:

FIREHOUSE ISSUES:

  • Parking behind the engine bays seems to be becoming an issue again. I know, I've done it too but we really need to move vehicles once the parking spots clear up at shift change.
  • The SHOP organization seems to keep becoming an issue every few months.  If you use something put it back. Let's try and keep this area organized otherwise this are will end up getting locked up with limited access.
FIRETRUCKS:
  • Overall equipment movement need to be coordinated. Things seem to be getting moved between apparatus again without any group discussion or coordination.
    • We will work on establishing clear inventories to prevent this from happening.
  • Switchovers: We will paint Engine Company Equipment to identify inventories for Crimson and Pierce
    • Lists have to be made and passed on electronically so folks can refer to
EMS
  • BVFD EMS personnel have been left out of EMS and EPCR report.  Please ensure detailed personnel know to add BVFD EMS when completing reports.

FIRE SUPPLIES:
  • If a delivery is made, please make sure to inventory it if you open it.  Otherwise respective folks will handle. The receipts should be filed in the file trays next to Captains Mailboxes. (NOT IN MY MAILBOX)
  • Please continue to use the white board in Captains office to write down things we need

Again thank you all for the work you've done and we will work on clarifying these issues as we move on.  If you feel there are any items you'd like me to address please feel free to email, talk, text, whatever. Thanks
