| Truck 15 blew a belt today while returning from a run. On duty mechanic was out and replaced belt however now there is a very loud screeching noise when you accelerate the vehicle. Mechanic was back out and re-checked it and states its ok to run until the am but it needs to go to CMF first thing in am. Take earplugs for the ride! | |

| T715 equipment used on the Kerr Road Fire: 3 SCBA, cleaned and refilled. Front Bumper & Cross Compartment Hooks - Cleaned, will rewrap some of the hooks tomorrow. All Pelican lights - cleaned and currently charging, except one which completed charging. Blowhard Fans #3 and #4 - cleaned & charging/charged. Sawzall - cleaned and batteries charged, changed out a wood/metal blade. The forwardmost hook mounting tray on the drivers side of the cross compartment was ripped off the bulkhead by someone when raiding the truck for tools. FF Klinger kindly reinstalled the mount with new self-tap screws. Wrote up a pelican light charger for not working - it is in the courier box for pick up. Truck crew & equipment compartments vacuumed and wiped down. | |

| T715 placed OOS this morning due to a broken coolant line on the driver's side. The black hose that runs along the oil filter housing started with a slow class 3 leak that appeared to come from small cracks in the hose. The leak progressed into a near complete draining of coolant after a section of the hose connected to a plastic "T" completely sheared off at the connection while troubleshooting and was unable to be repaired or sealed. CMF contacted via phone, they had the replacement parts available and sent the mobile technician out to repair to defect. The entire section of black hose on both sides of the "T" and the plastic "T" itself were replaced, fresh coolant added to the reservoir, engine ran and checked for further leaks. Once repaired T715 was placed back in service. Extra note regarding the CONSTANT coolant leaks: The technician stated that the Red "OAT" coolant is extremely corrosive. Since switching to that type of coolant, it has caused fleetwide issues with leaks due to hoses and other components being eaten away by the chemicals in conjunction with the high heat levels from the engine degrading the materials. The tech. stated that for about the past year RS742 has been testing the green coolant that was previously used to see if it causes the same issues. Supposedly it has worked in correcting the issue, however there is no ETA on when, or if, CMF will switch units back to the green coolant, or another type, to reduce leaks. I asked if we could switch to the green coolant as well and the Tech stated the decision has to come from the Fleet leadership, and it would be a fleetwide change. The tech recommended rinsing coolant off the engine during weekly and monthly cab tilts to help reduce corrosion of other components. | |
