A715 Stryker power cot operates normally under no load but cannot lift an average sized patient the last 6-8" needed to reach cot loading height. Crew needed to assist the lifting mechanism with this final few inches for patient loading. Switched batteries and verified that the unit is charging when in the docked position. No apparent hydraulic fluid leaks. Motor itself seems to be struggling to lift this last few inches. Notified EMS704 Capt. Longo via phone, exchanged A715 power cot for reserve manual cot at Station 25. Capt. Longo advised that during business hours the ambulance crew will need to return to Station 25 to switch back to the malfunctioning power cot and take it to EMS Logistics for exchange. | |
IF DEFECT, WAS A REPAIR REQUEST MADE? | Defect reporting was via EMS704 as this was EMS equipment |
